4. How can I register for online banking?

You can enroll in Shinhan Bank America Online Banking Service at your Nearest Branch Office and enjoy the Free Bill Pay service available for all personal checking account customers.

5. How do I change my account information on my existing account?

To change your account information including address and phone number, please visit our Branch Office, and a Representative will assist you with the proper forms to complete. To change your legal name, you are required to bring a photo ID and the proof document of change to the nearest branch office.

6. How do I check my balance by phone?

You can access your accounts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling our Phone Banking Center at (212) 684-6730 (NY) / (213) 386-6333.

9. What is my routing number?

10. How do I make a stop payment on a personal check?

You can request a stop payment by calling, faxing, or visiting your Local Branch Office. Please have the following information ready: check number, date written, exact amount, and payee. If the amount and check number are not correct, the check may be paid. Please note that the stop payment cannot take effect for checks that have already been presented and it will only be effective for six months.

11. Does an ATM or Debit Card come with my checking account?

Yes. You are entitled to receive a Debit Visa Card with your new checking account. We also offer an ATM card for an alternate choice for certain customers.

12. How do I activate my ATM or Debit Card?

To activate your ATM or Debit Card, just use your card with your current PIN at any Shinhan Bank America ATM or POS terminal. Debit Card holders may start use their cards as signature based once they are activated.

13. What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

Please contact us immediately to report a lost or stolen card at (646) 843-7353 (NY) / (213) 251-3050 (CA) or (800) 406-5534. You may not be responsible for unauthorized card transactions that are reported promptly.

14. Do you offer cashier’s checks / money orders?

Yes, Shinhan Bank America offers cashier’s checks / money orders. To find the exact fee for your account, please contact your Nearest Branch Office.

15. Can I buy traveler’s checks from Shinhan Bank America?

Yes, please visit your Nearest Branch Office if you are interested in purchasing the checks. The purchasing cost is 1% of the amount of the checks.
